Understanding People

Elevating leadership through insight

Every great organization begins with great people. Yet even the best teams sometimes struggle with communication, decision-making, and alignment, not because they lack talent, but because they don’t fully understand what drives themselves or each other.

For more than a decade, I have used a science-based behavioral framework that helps leaders and teams see beyond personality to uncover what truly influences performance. This process measures how people see the world, how they prefer to communicate, and what they need to stay engaged. It reveals the patterns that drive collaboration, tension, and trust, giving leaders insight that goes far beyond intuition

A Proven Approach Backed by Experience

I was trained and certified in this methodology in 2014 and have since worked with hundreds of professionals across the private club, hospitality, education, and corporate sectors. Over the years, I have been honored to:

  • Present at the annual Birkman Conference

  • Be featured in an official Birkman case study highlighting leadership and culture transformation

  • Conduct training at Birkman International headquarters

  • Present at numerous CMAA national and regional events on leadership, communication, and organizational health

These experiences have deepened my belief that when people understand themselves and each other, performance improves, relationships strengthen, and culture follows.

How I Use It

I integrate this behavioral insight into leadership coaching, board alignment, and team development programs to help organizations:

  • Strengthen communication and collaboration

  • Reduce conflict through shared understanding

  • Identify hidden strengths and blind spots

  • Build cultures rooted in trust and accountability

This is not a test or a label. It is a framework for perspective that helps leaders see themselves and their teams more clearly.

Why It Matters

When leaders understand what motivates and stresses them, they lead with empathy and clarity. When teams understand each other, they perform with energy and alignment. And when boards understand how their leaders think, they govern with confidence and trust.

That is the power of insight, and it is at the heart of everything I do.
